Have you ever suffered from a subconscious block! Have you experienced the sense that you are not doing something that would be in your best interest? If you have, then you are not alone. Most of my clients come to me saying things like “I don’t know why I do that; it’s so silly” or “I should be able to do that”.

The block I recently overcame was about writing ….. well blogging, to be more accurate. I have literally been putting it off and putting it off for months. It is something that I know could help my business and yet I just could not make myself do it. I would make excuses, prioritise other things and just downright procrastinate.

To overcome this block, I needed to understand what was causing it. It was a fabulous session with my business coach, Adrian Wales of LPD Associates that really did it. In that session I was helped to uncover that the main reason I wasn’t writing was because of what I thought writing should look like; me sat at my computer typing and because I have a reading condition called Irlen Syndrome, this just did not feel right for me. Once we got to the bottom of that, I worked out a way to write; the good old fashioned way with a pen and paper.


So, now, I set off a bit early on morning journeys and give myself time to write. It feels more natural and has helped me to overcome my writing block.

So now, excitingly, I have written not one but two guest blogs for the fabulous Yorkshire Powerhouse.
